Quick Take
- Spin NFT capsules for 15 RON or 10 USDC
- Reveal prizes and either claim or sell them back instantly
- Drop rates are onchain and verifiable through Ronin VRF
Ronin Network’s newest feature, Jin’s Fortune Spin, has gone live, introducing a capsule-based NFT system to the chain’s official marketplace. The mechanic allows players to spin for collectible assets across Axie Infinity, Pixels, and other ecosystem projects, then choose to either claim or sell the item back for a variable payout.
Each capsule spin costs 15 RON or 10 USDC and returns one randomized item. Available prizes include Origin Axies, Pixels Farm Land, Sabong Saga Chickens, Cambria Cores, CyberKongz Genkai, and additional NFTs from Ronin-native titles like Fishing Frenzy and Ronkeverse. Future updates will add physical collectibles to the prize pool.
The system is built around two machines: the Axie Machine, which holds Axie-related prizes, and the Ronin Machine, which draws from broader ecosystem collections. Users select their preferred pool, spin the capsule, and immediately see what’s inside. From there, they can either keep the collectible, do nothing, or sell it back to Jin’s Fortune Spin for a fixed return if the offer is available.
Sell-back pricing is dynamic and time-sensitive. According to Ronin’s announcement, offers may disappear without warning and are entirely at Jin’s discretion. This introduces a risk-reward mechanic that gamifies each spin beyond the initial reveal.
All spins and drop results are recorded onchain using Ronin’s Verifiable Random Functions. That makes prize outcomes transparent and verifiable, with a dedicated Recent Spins feed showing what other users have pulled. Drop rates are also fixed regardless of prior outcomes. For instance, Origin Axies maintain a 0.01% drop rate, even if one was just claimed.
The feature is modeled after capsule toy mechanics and blind-box gacha culture but with onchain transparency and resale flexibility baked in. It’s one of several experiments Ronin is currently testing to expand its market layer and offer more interactive reward paths.
Jin’s Fortune Spin also dovetails with broader strategic shifts discussed by Sky Mavis co-founder Jeffrey “Jihoz” Zirlin in a recent Ronin Radio appearance. During the episode, Jihoz described a move away from passive validator rewards and toward more interactive, contribution-based systems for distributing network value. Jin’s buyback-enabled capsule mechanic may be an early example of how that vision gets implemented across both player and builder incentives. Full interview summary here.
Jin’s Fortune Spin has officially opened. To participate, connect the Ronin Wallet on Ronin Market, select a machine, and spend either RON or USDC for a capsule. Each capsule contains one item, with claim and sell options immediately following the spin.
