Quick Take
- A new MUD-only guild forms ahead of Community Week, pulling players from across the ecosystem
- Spectator mode and progression features confirmed for upcoming UE5 shooter update
- Holosim enters final testing phase with capital ships, faction goals, and combat data
Star Atlas held its latest community call last week, offering a snapshot of where things stand across its ecosystem as development continues and new player groups organize ahead of a packed calendar.
One of the biggest shifts came from the emergence of a new MUD-only guild that has started pulling in members from across the player base. The group is coordinating under a shared identity and plans to compete in both Holosim and the UE5-based shooter. Members say they’re building quickly, focusing on activity and open structure. The DAC platform for registering guilds is still unavailable, but that hasn’t slowed down the internal rollout.
With the community expanding, focus is now shifting toward Community Week, a multi-day series of events starting later this month. Highlights include the Council of Peace Assembly guild presentations, where participants will compete for infrastructure prizes totaling $26,000. Any guild that submits a valid entry will receive developer support, regardless of placement. The Joni Awards voting is live, with categories covering community contribution and content creation. A community-run “carnival” will run in parallel, distributing raffle tickets through minigames and voice chat participation.
Gameplay systems are evolving alongside the social layer. The team confirmed that a spectator mode is in the works for the UE5 shooter, enabling tournament-style casting. Internal builds include player tracking, camera tools, and kill feed improvements. Account progression and crew ranking are also in testing, with unlockable rewards and potential on-chain incentives tied to XP systems. The update is expected later this summer.
Holosim continues to grow in scope, with capital ships now in play and economic data being collected to inform the next phase. Future updates will introduce faction-level objectives, career-based ranks, and combat logs. The team said the testing period is nearing completion, with most core features already deployed in some form.
Guilds are becoming more active, tools are maturing, and feature deployment is accelerating. The coming weeks are expected to bring one of the most active phases for the game since its original launch window.
What Else Was Shared in Atlas Brew #165:
- Weekly voice chats, giveaways, and regional Atlas Brews continue as usual, with Portuguese and Spanish editions live this week
- A cross-faction PvP challenge between players and the Star Atlas team is scheduled during Community Week
- Players can earn in-game rewards by defeating devs in U5 matches using a registration-based format
- Holosim will feature new rank types like soldier, miner, merchant, and data runner to reflect career paths
- A live faction progress countdown will show contract completions in real time once the system goes live
- A badge system is planned to recognize Holosim testers and leaderboard leaders
- Community-created ads and projects will be showcased during intermission breaks across the event week
- New UI shooter weapon models and a planned post-update tournament were briefly teased during the session
These updates follows the release of Star Atlas’ Q2 2025 economic report, which showed record-high ATLAS token locking, growth in player-controlled wealth, and rising participation in fleet rentals and Holosim sessions. With social engagement rising to match economic confidence, the ecosystem is entering a stretch where both sides of the project, player activity and platform maturity, are showing traction at the same time.
