- The event runs November 19–22 at SMX Aura, Bonifacio Global City.
Building Skills For The Digital Economy
The YGG Play Summit is returning to Manila with a larger Skill District, the learning hub inside its City of Play experience. Designed by Metaversity, the education arm of YGG Pilipinas, the expanded zone will train participants in Web3 and AI through workshops focused on real-world digital skills.
The Skill District joins three other themed areas of the summit: Player District, Degen District, and The Arena which all create a full ecosystem of gaming, learning, and innovation. The initiative aims to prepare Filipinos for new careers across content creation, marketing, community management, and game development as the digital economy grows.
Expanding Access Through Collaboration
Three new programs are launching inside the Skill District. The Prompt to Prototype workshop will teach attendees how to build simple games using AI tools from OpenxAI and infrastructure by B3 on Base. Metaversity Interactive will gather government officials, educators, and industry leaders to identify the most in-demand skills for emerging tech jobs.

MFW City, a builder residency developed by YGG Pilipinas and the Department of Information and Communications Technology, will present the results of its pilot program in Puerto Princesa. The project trained more than 120 developers from the MIMAROPA region in the Sui blockchain’s Move programming language. Two graduates will take the summit stage to showcase their work alongside James Wing of Mysten Labs.
DICT Regional Director Emmy Lou Versoza-Delfin described the partnership as an example of Digital Bayanihan, the government’s initiative to promote inclusive digital growth. She said programs like MFW City and the Skill District are helping create new paths for Filipinos to build sustainable digital careers from home.
Responding To A Shifting Job Market
According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, technology will continue to reshape the global workforce, creating new roles while displacing others. Expanding digital access and technical education could generate millions of new jobs worldwide, underscoring the need for programs that help workers transition into AI and Web3.
In the Philippines, this translates to a growing demand for digital fluency and technical training. Through Metaversity and its partnerships, YGG Pilipinas is positioning the Skill District as a gateway for students, developers, and creators to enter those fields.
Partner Schools And Sessions
STI College Bonifacio Global City will serve as the Skill District’s official school partner, joined by IT and computer science organizations from more than ten universities across the country, including the University of Santo Tomas, National University, and the University of Southeastern Philippines.
Sui will serve as the anchor partner for this year’s Skill District. Alongside the MFW City showcase, two other key sessions will take place: Metaversity Interactive on November 21 and the Prompt to Prototype workshop on November 22.
Mench Dizon, Country Head of YGG Pilipinas, said the Skill District was designed to help Filipinos find practical pathways into the digital economy through hands-on learning and mentorship.
