Pixcape Games Studio has set a January mobile launch for Hive Invasion, bringing its Web3 gaming MMORPG to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The announcement follows the game’s first competitive season, which the studio said ran for one week.
Season 1 drew more than 143,000 players and generated over 204,000 on-chain transactions, according to the figures shared in the update. Hive Invasion runs on the Somnia network, with in-game assets and player actions recorded on-chain as part of its ownership and verification model. Before the mobile rollout, the game was available on desktop through a web based version.
The studio said Season 2 will line up with the January mobile release and will introduce a prize pool aimed at driving participation. The update positions Hive Invasion among a growing slate of crypto games and Web3 games targeting mobile distribution, where play-to-earn games and on-chain economies often hinge on transaction volume and retention across seasonal formats.
Pixcape Games Studio was founded over a year ago and operating with an eight person team. The studio also cited prior work on multiple Web2 titles that collectively surpassed 40 million downloads before moving into Web3 gaming.
