Quick Take
- Playtest runs July 23–30 with leaderboard rewards
- $25,000 prize pool split between two communities
- Co-op encouraged, matchmaking disabled
Cross the Ages has launched the second closed playtest for Arise, a pre-alpha multiplayer RPG scheduled to run from July 23 to July 30. A total prize pool of $25,000 in CTA tokens has been allocated to top-performing groups across two leaderboards, each tied to a different community: CTA Mint Pass holders and Moca ID users.
The current test introduces five new weapons, unlocked through crystals earned in dungeon runs. Each crystal carries a randomized tier, allowing access to higher-tier weapons without extended grind. Weapon drops are tied to key progression, with faster clear times unlocking higher-level keys and greater crystal rewards.
Two leaderboards will track high scores during the week-long session. One is designated for those with verified CTA Mint Passes, while the other is assigned to the Moca community. Group entries may include a mix of both cohorts. Rewards from each leaderboard are distributed only to eligible members within a group, based on their affiliation.
Team-based progression remains core to the format. Up to four individuals can form a party and enter dungeon instances cooperatively. Matchmaking is not available during this test, so all teams must be coordinated manually, with official Discord channels serving as the central hub for group formation.
All eligible accounts must use a unique access code to join the test. These codes are distributed via email to whitelisted CTA users and through the Mocaverse website for approved Moca IDs. Once installed through the Epic Games Store, the access code unlocks participation in the playtest. The game is not yet available in China or South Korea due to distribution limitations.
At the end of the test, CTA tokens will be sent directly to qualifying wallets. Token value for prize calculation will be based on a seven-day average taken from the playtest window. In addition to leaderboard rewards, each connected account that clears a level 10 dungeon will receive a Founder’s Coin, usable later in early access.
A total of 200 rankings per leaderboard are eligible for a share of the prize pool. Rewards are split equally across group members, and the same account can appear in multiple qualifying groups. Crystal drops, weapon unlocks, and leaderboard positions are all tracked in real time throughout the event.
The official Steam page for Arise will go live during the test, though the game will not yet be playable through that platform. Full release is expected later this year, supported by Animoca Brands, which also provides tokenomics and distribution advisory for Cross the Ages and the CTA token ecosystem.
