Quick Take
- New Axie Score formulas are now live, impacting governance across the Axie Infinity ecosystem
- Four badge-based contribution categories determine each Lunacian’s influence on Lunacia’s future
- Designations like “Mythkeeper” reflect a user’s standing in the Axie nation
Axie Infinity’s Axie Score system received a significant update this week, introducing new contribution formulas, profile designations, and expanded badge utility across the Lunacian ecosystem. The update is now live and marks the latest infrastructure update ahead of the upcoming MMO Atia’s Legacy.
Originally launched in 2024, the Axie Score is a metric that tracks user engagement across four main areas: axie NFT holdings, treasury contributions, community activity, and in-game performance. Each area adds weighted points toward a player’s total score. The higher the score, the more influence a player holds during governance processes, including treasury-related votes.
The new release introduces updated scoring logic, a redesigned user interface, and four new badges tied to specific activities. For example, the “Marketplace Fee Contribution” badge awards 1 point per 0.0001 ETH contributed through trading fees, while the “First Proposal Voter” badge gives 9,001 points to participants who voted in Axie’s AIP-0001 proposal.

Sky Mavis confirmed that all badge values and contribution weightings are determined by the Axie Score Committee, a group of selected community members and Contributors. The engineering team at Sky Mavis handles technical implementation, but does not set scoring rules. This format was introduced to ensure that decisions around community influence originate from within the player base.
Badges now integrate with the four-score structure and appear in each user’s Lunalog badge profile. Players can view the badge name, category, base score, number of holders, and leaderboard status directly from their account. Each Axie Score also grants a player designation based on their score bracket. For instance, users with a score above 1 are tagged as “Lunacians,” while higher tiers such as “Mythkeeper” are reserved for top contributors.
In addition to governance power, future uses for Axie Scores are being considered. These may include early access to games, modified AXS staking rewards, or in-game benefits. No timelines have been provided for these features, but the current structure allows for new use cases to be added over time.
Will Axie Scores Tie In To Atia’s Legacy?
Today’s Axie Score release arrives as Atia’s Legacy, the upcoming Axie Infinity MMO, approaches its first playtest. That game will bring Lunacians into a persistent world with social coordination, territory defense, and resource-based economies. According to prior announcements, governance systems may connect directly to Axie Scores, giving high scorers more visibility and decision-making power inside the MMO. A full breakdown of Sky Mavis’ roadmap for Atia’s Legacy and its role in Web3 gaming was presented during TOKEN2049 — read our report here.
More than 17.2M users have pre-registered for Atia’s Legacy, and Sky Mavis has confirmed that two playtests are planned before the end of 2025. The Axie Score system provides the infrastructure for tracking long-term player involvement ahead of those launches.
