Quick Take
- Token launch and staking systems arrive in Q3
- Fixed gold to USD exchange with performance based rewards
- Play to airdrop event spans individual, guild, and social leaderboards
Calamity MMORPG is entering a new chapter as it prepares to launch its WYRM token and overhaul its in-game economy. The Q3 roadmap marks a turning point for the retro-style RPG, bringing real-world value to gameplay, competitive leaderboards, and onchain rewards.
The upcoming Wyrm Tribute update introduces a fixed exchange rate between in-game gold and USD, with daily playtime limits and performance-based gold distribution. Calamity is integrating new systems that tie player effort to tangible results, from guild coordination to solo PvE and PvP performance. The update also includes in-game NFT support and a suite of city-based social minigames with gambling-style mechanics.

A major play to airdrop campaign will run during the pre-season, offering prize pools for tokens, cash, and top placements across multiple leaderboards. These include categories for individual valor, gold balance, guild performance, referral activity, and social minigame results. The campaign is designed to reward both gameplay skill and community engagement.
The WYRM token will officially launch this quarter through a public sale tied to a connected NFT mint. Players will gain access to staking, trading, and sink systems that feed into Calamity’s broader economy. Season One will be the first to operate fully on the WYRM token, allowing it to be used across trading, PvP wagers, expedition deployment, and other in-game utilities.
This shift toward a real economy builds on Calamity’s earlier migration to the Ronin blockchain, where it restructured its NFT assets and began phasing in new systems for ownership and reward.
