Quick Take
- Hike Gaming Nation is building a Web3 PvP platform designed for casual competitive gameplay
- The platform marks Hike’s transition from Web2 real-cash games to onchain multiplayer formats
- A focus on scale and accessibility positions the platform to target the global casual gaming audience
Hike Gaming Nation is making its first major move into Web3 with the launch of a real-time PvP platform focused on multiplayer competition. Known for its background in Web2 real-cash games, Hike is now building an onchain alternative aimed at a much broader and global gaming base.
The project is being positioned as a massively multiplayer online platform, where players engage in short-format PvP battles. No download is required, and the format is mobile-first, with game sessions designed to last only a few minutes. The idea is to replicate the kind of casual loop already familiar in mobile gaming, but with blockchain underpinnings.
Hike is describing the new platform as a “nation” for competitive gamers. The infrastructure is being designed to handle high volumes of simultaneous gameplay, and early testing has reportedly focused on matchmaking logic, latency, and low-lift onboarding. Details on launch timelines and chain integrations have not been disclosed yet
According to Hike, the platform is targeting the estimated 600 million casual gamers worldwide—a segment that remains largely outside the Web3 ecosystem. Rather than compete for a slice of the current crypto gaming user base, the strategy is to offer an alternative entry point for users already accustomed to mobile gaming formats.
The platform is being developed in-house by Hike, leveraging years of backend infrastructure experience from its previous Web2 offerings. The company previously operated some real-cash and skill-based games in India, including titles that saw traction across tier 2 and tier 3 cities. That familiarity with scale and distribution now forms the base for this new onchain model.
The project builds on Hike’s 2021 funding round led by Justin Mateen (Tinder), with backing from SoftBank’s Rajeev Misra, Tribe Capital, and founders from Cred, Flipkart, and Snapdeal. That round laid the foundation for Hike’s shift toward blockchain-native gaming infrastructure.
More information is expected to roll out across Hike Gaming Nation’s official channels. A closed testing phase is currently underway, with broader access scheduled to follow later this year.
