Matr1x, a renowned NFT gaming company, has secured a significant $10M from its recently completed funding round. The team plans to channel this additional funding into the development of ambitious mobile gaming projects.
Folius Ventures led the funding round, with Seven X, a crypto venture capital firm, playing a pivotal role as a co-lead investor. Other notable contributors included ABCDE Capital, Jambo, Initiate Capital, and Find Satoshi Lab.
In recent months, Matr1x has been actively developing its first-person mobile shooter game, Matr1x Fire. This game features a competitive gameplay style, allowing players to form a five-person team and engage in intense battles. While there are stylistic and gameplay similarities to Riot Games’ popular shooter, Valorant, Matr1x Fire distinguishes itself with unique mechanics. The development team has clarified that Matr1x Fire aligns more closely with CS: GO, emphasizing gunplay and strategic shooting, and deliberately avoiding the inclusion of heroes with special powers or skills. This distinction comes in the wake of similar games like Valorant and NetEase’s Hyper Front facing legal challenges over game mechanics.
