Quick Take
- My Neighbor Alice Chapter One is now live with no downloads or wallet required
- Pudgy Penguins NFTs are fully playable in 3D with exclusive quests and rewards
- New Moxie XP system and browser-native client
My Neighbor Alice has officially entered a new era with the launch of Chapter One: A New Adventure, a major update that introduces full browser-based gameplay, instant onboarding without wallets, and integrated NFT companions, marking its most accessible and ambitious phase to date.
For the first time, My Neighbor Alice is playable directly in a browser, no installation or token ownership required. Players can jump in instantly, with accounts and wallets created passively in the background. This update represents a clear shift toward Web2-style simplicity, while still preserving Web3 ownership and progression under the hood.
Set on the newly introduced island of Lummelunda, Chapter One anchors the future of the game’s open-world builder experience. The update also rolls out the Moxie system, a reworked XP-based progression layer that replaces earlier mechanics and sets the tone for future seasonal content.
NFT interoperability takes center stage with the debut of Pudgy Penguin integration, which brings 40,000 NFTs from the Pudgy ecosystem into the My Neighbor Alice universe. These fully animated, 3D companions can follow players in-game, unlock unique quests, and access special crafting tools and emotes. It’s one of the strongest examples yet of real-time cross-project utility in blockchain gaming.
According to Steve Haßenpflug, VP of Games at My Neighbor Alice, the launch is a proof of concept for what Web3 should be: “No downloads, no wallets—just gameplay. This is what accessible Web3 looks like.”
Backed by Chromia, the game runs on a fully on-chain infrastructure, with all player data and world state stored natively rather than relying on traditional backend servers. Chromia’s relational architecture and gasless transaction model help deliver smooth interactions and persistent gameplay without the usual blockchain friction.
Alongside the launch, My Neighbor Alice has also activated a major incentive push with the ongoing 500K $ALICE airdrop campaign. Players can now earn tokens through its new Rewards Board system, which tracks daily logins, quests, and social activity, offering real-time benefits tied directly to gameplay.
Chapter One is the foundation for a live, evolving world that combines creativity, digital ownership, and multiplayer building in one browser tab. With new content already in development, and further collaborations expected, My Neighbor Alice is positioning itself at the forefront of Web3-native gaming for a mainstream audience.
