Obitus Games has released a detailed preview of OverKnights’ in-game economy and roadmap. The studio confirmed the upcoming use of the $OVC token, a peer marketplace for NFT trading, and a seasonal Play-to-Airdrop campaign with on-chain and cash-based rewards.
OverKnights is a strategic card battler on Immutable where players create and customize characters using Parts and Cards. The game’s primary mode, the Climb of the Libra Tower, is a ranked PvP system where players earn NFTs during limited-time drops. These NFTs include Booster Packs, Parts, Cards, and Cosmetics. Each item type supports gameplay customization or visual flair. Once earned, these items can be traded on an in-game marketplace.
The marketplace is orderbook-driven. Sellers place listings and receive $OVC when their orders are filled. A fee is taken from each transaction. Obitus Games will use revenue from the in-game shop to buy back $OVC from the market and reduce total supply. This system is intended to help maintain token balance and sustainability over time.
$OVC is used to buy Battle Passes, Booster Packs, Reward Boosters, Consumables, and Cosmetics. Booster Packs are capped daily to limit supply-side pressure. Battle Passes offer seasonal content access and mission packs. Reward Boosters increase ranked match rewards. Consumables and premium cosmetics will rotate regularly in the in-game shop.
Players can earn $OVC by selling their NFTs on the marketplace. Earnings depend on demand for time-limited items released during each season. Items not earned through gameplay can be acquired from other players using $OVC.
The Play-to-Airdrop campaign will begin before the game’s token generation event. The campaign will run across three seasons. Each season will offer two reward paths. One path includes USDC prize pools tied to leaderboard performance in ranked PvP. The second path includes $OVC airdrops earned through quest completion.
Players can increase their rewards through the VIP Pass. The pass applies multipliers to both USDC leaderboard earnings and $OVC airdrops. Pricing has not been disclosed. Holders of the Genesis Pilot NFT collection will receive additional perks. These include access to exclusive quests and higher reward multipliers.
Obitus Games will host a Discord AMA on July 24 at 7pm AST to discuss the economy and roadmap in more detail.
