Pixcape, a Web3 game studio backed by a grant from Somnia, has sold out its Genesis Pass mint just days after hosting its second major playtest for flagship title Hive Invasion. The Ethereum-based collection was priced at 0.033 ETH, with a total supply of 777 NFTs. As of June 27, the floor price on OpenSea has risen to approximately 0.0393 ETH, or around $95 USD.
The Genesis Pass acts as an all-access token for Pixcape’s expanding gaming ecosystem. Holders receive guaranteed drops of playable heroes and weapons, early access to closed builds, and ongoing perks across current and future titles. Additional benefits include airdrop eligibility, exclusive loot chests, and future governance mechanics tied to world progression.
Hive Invasion, Pixcape’s first title, is a pixel-art MMORPG designed for browser play. Players fight waves of enemies while collecting resources and unlocking onchain rewards. During the most recent playtest, over 27,700 players participated, logging more than 800,000 minutes of total gameplay, according to the studio.
Pixcape was founded by a team with more than 40 million downloads in traditional Web2 game markets and over four years of experience building web3-native projects. The studio is positioning Hive Invasion as the first of multiple interoperable titles in a shared game universe, with long-term plans for multichain integrations and community-driven development.
The Genesis mint was conducted on OpenSea on June 25 through a phased launch: a guaranteed mint window, followed by first-come-first-serve access, then a public phase. All passes were claimed within hours.
The studio’s official roadmap includes new features tied to lore quests, PvE expansions, and cross-game NFT utility. According to recent posts, governance and quest participation will gradually shift to token holders as Pixcape’s ecosystem expands.
