Ronin Network has announced its partnership with an award-winning game studio, Zillion Whales. The game development studio is currently building a real-time strategy (RTS) game called Wild Forest. Notably, Zillion Whales is the sixth official game-building studio on Ronin and it is responsible for four strategy games including the award-winning Mushroom Wars 2.
Wild Forest features fast-paced PvP battles and card-collecting elements. Players are saddled with the mission to destroy the opponent’s castle before they can destroy theirs. The game requires a series of repetitive events— spawning units, generating resources, and attacking the enemies. Players must be cautious as one wrong click could wipe out their castles.
The game offers a free-to-play experience, ensuring all players can earn rewards by competing in seasonal leaderboards. As the game development progresses, players can trade in-game assets like Unit and Skin NFTs, $WF tokens, in-game weapons, and other valuables on secondary marketplaces. Wild Forest has an ongoing Alpha session after which it would be made publicly available on the Play Store, AppStore, and Mavis Hub.
Wild Forest Gameplay
Every player must build a deck of cards before the battle begins. The composition of the deck will determine the types of units a player can deploy. A typical default deck starts players off with a balanced mix of close-range archers, a modest air force, powerful artillery, and many others. These units have zestful names like Wolf the Knight, Fox the Sniper, and Turtle the Tank. Players can earn experience points and gold from battle which can be used to reinforce and upgrade each unit.
After a successful deck build, players can match against an opponent. As the game begins, all territories on the maps remain unclaimed save the player’s base and the opponent’s base. Players can progressively build any of these three types of buildings on the territories: Towers, Mines, and Barracks. Towers are defensive fortifications that fire at enemy units within range while mines generate essential energy. Barracks are locations where players spawn all new units. Players need to erect buildings to claim territory after attacking opponent’s units.
