Star Atlas, the next-gen game built on the Solana blockchain, is set to undergo an ultimate stress test on its platform. The test aims to evaluate the platform’s capability to support 1,000 players simultaneously in a single lobby. Scheduled for January 17, 2024, at 5 PM UTC, this multiplayer stress test is a significant milestone for the game.
Last year, the game released a closed-access Star Atlas 2.1.9 update on the Epic Games Store. This update introduced early test modes, including a 3rd person shooter and combat racing against bots, providing players with a glimpse of new final in-game ship models. Additionally, a new character and skin selection studio were incorporated.
To participate in the stress testing phase, Star Atlas will send special access keys to selected players. Interested participants were required to retweet the announcement post and tag a friend to enhance their chances of being chosen.

For the Star Atlas: Showroom testing phase, players need to join the community Discord server and embark on a journey toward their first spaceship acquisition. Upon the successful transformation of the spaceship into a seasoned fleet, a pre-alpha access key automatically appears on the player’s profile page.
In a noteworthy collaboration, Star Atlas partnered with MetaGravity to create a single non-instanced environment that allows approximately 5,000 players and bots to interact, scheduled for July. The developer, ATMTA, envisions increasing the accommodation limit to over 30,000 players using a cost-effective approach during this test phase.
