Quick Take
- A new map and Ultimate League mode headline The Machines Arena open beta S3 update
- Expanded lineup of skins and familiars deepens player progression and customization
- Seasonal reward crates now part of the live gameplay loop ahead of $TMA token launch
The Machines Arena open beta S3, the third season of the top-down web3 hero shooter, has been officially previewed following an extended period of silence. OBS3, as the update is labeled, brings what developers call the game’s most significant content refresh to date. The new season introduces a competitive game mode, collectible expansions, and updates to the reward system, all previewed in a new trailer released this week.
A new map will be part of the update, although details on its layout, design, and objectives remain limited for now. The update also expands progression paths with new familiars and skins, adding to the game’s collection systems without altering its core PvP focus.
The headline addition is Ultimate League, a new competitive game mode built to diversify matchmaking and introduce seasonal structure. No rule specifics or matchmaking formats have been published yet, but the mode appears to be positioned as a long-term addition to the game’s live-service foundation.
Seasonal reward crates are also being introduced into the Ronin Network-powered game, with in-game items tied to the ongoing progression cycle. The contents and unlocking criteria for these crates haven’t been disclosed, but they appear to reflect the seasonal cadence introduced with OBS3.
There is still no official release date for the Machines Arena open beta S3. Its rollout is tied to the upcoming $TMA token generation event, which remains unscheduled. The development team acknowledged the six-month gap in communication and cited the pending TGE as a major reason for the delay. In a blog post, they admitted the lack of updates “helped no one” and said plans are in place to resume regular updates through social channels and Discord.
No tokenomics updates or new roadmap milestones were included with the trailer or blog post. Developers indicated that more specific information will arrive before the TGE.
For now, the trailer provides the clearest preview of what OBS3 brings: a larger content footprint, a new competitive format, expanded customization options, and a renewed push for communication transparency.
