Quick Take
- Service ends August 24, under three months after launch
- USDC compensation starts July 22 via Immutable zkEVM
- TOKYO GAMES Foundation and TGT token will remain active
Tokyo Beast will officially shut down on August 24, 2025, at 08:00 UTC, following internal discussions about operational costs and sustainability. The news was confirmed by producer Naoki Motohashi, who acknowledged community support and said the decision came after “extensive discussions with stakeholders.”
Originally launched in early June, the game served as the flagship title under the TOKYO GAMES Foundation. The shutdown ends a live operations period of less than three months.
A compensation plan in USDC will be issued to eligible users starting July 22. The payouts will be processed on the Immutable zkEVM chain and calculated based on mint price, floor price, and in-game utility of various assets. NFTs covered include GEMs, LUCKY TICKETS, BEASTs, RAWDISKs, PLAYER ICONs, and assets purchased through secondary markets like TokenTrove. In-game actions such as PARAMETER REDRAWING, GENE SHUFFLING, and TGT STAKING will also be considered.
The refund window for unused “Paid JEWELS” will open August 25 and remain active until September 30. Users are advised not to uninstall the app until the process is complete, as doing so may prevent refunds from being processed.
Key service features are winding down in phases. The TB Store closed on July 22, with BASE operations ending on July 31. TRIALS content, including the final CHAMPIONSHIP and ARENA, will run through August 24. Features like GACHA, BREEDING, and NFT conversion are free until shutdown.
An AMA addressing the shutdown is scheduled for July 24 at 10:30 UTC on the game’s official Discord. Submissions are open until July 23.
Although Tokyo Beast is ending, the TOKYO GAMES Foundation and the TGT token will remain active. The team confirmed that additional games are already in development and positioned this closure as part of a broader roadmap.
