Quick Take
- $UPR presale begins June 24; 1 billion tokens will power all Uprising-published games
- 37% of supply goes to community; Game Fund and internal team also hold major shares
- Token will be native to the Somnia blockchain and tied to all titles in development
Uprising Labs has confirmed the launch of its long-awaited $UPR token, introducing a shared economy across its growing slate of Web3 games. The token presale is scheduled to begin June 24, with a total supply capped at 1 billion tokens.
The team announced that $UPR will serve as the unified currency for all Uprising-developed and published titles. According to early tokenomics, 37% of the total supply is being allocated to the community, while 26% will fund new games, ecosystem rewards, and development events. An additional 15% is reserved for the internal team under a long-term vesting schedule. The remaining allocation includes 7% for liquidity, 5% for public sale, and 4% for presale participants, with seed investors and advisors each receiving 3%.
Uprising Labs functions as both a game publisher and a platform provider, offering blockchain integration, developer tools, and access to its Dream Catalyst accelerator. That fund, backed by $10 million in capital and co-managed with Somnia, supports high-potential studios transitioning from Web2 to onchain development.
The platform is closely aligned with Somnia, an EVM-compatible L1 chain purpose-built for Web3 gaming. Somnia’s infrastructure, which supports over 1 million transactions per second, powers a number of Uprising titles already in testing. Several of these games, including QRusader, Maelstrom, and Masks of the Void, use onchain progression systems enabled by Uprising’s Gamers L.A.B.—a backend toolset for saving in-game actions like kills, loot drops, and event outcomes directly to the blockchain.
Maelstrom, a naval combat title re-released with blockchain hooks, and QRusader, a roguelite that scans real-world QR codes to generate dungeons, are both expected to use $UPR as their primary in-game currency. Other titles like NightSpawn and Mullet Cop will also tie into the token once it launches.
Gamers L.A.B. is designed to bring interoperability across all titles in the ecosystem. Developers can plug in support for battle records, rewards, and bounties with minimal blockchain knowledge, making it a scalable option for Web3-native and hybrid games. The system is already in use across all Dream Catalyst games and is expected to support community-created tools once more data APIs go live.
Uprising has stated the token will support player rewards, in-game marketplaces, and upgrade paths across its ecosystem. All games will be able to use the token for purchases, trading, and event access. Each title will also maintain its own onchain battle records via Somnia’s high-speed backend, allowing for persistent player history and global competition.
The presale opens June 24, with further details expected later this week.
