Deeper Strategy Arrives In WAGMI Defense
WAGMI Games has rolled out version 6.0 of its free-to-play mobile game WAGMI Defense, introducing new mechanics and visual upgrades across its core gameplay systems. The release adds Battle Boosters, redesigned deck management, and a rebuilt in-game shop to expand strategic decision-making and player control.
Available now on iOS and Android, the update refines how players build, upgrade, and manage their card decks. Boosters can now be equipped during matches, creating new layers of timing and resource strategy. The team describes the change as a major step forward for competitive play.
“This changes the game, literally,” said CEO Ian Bentley. “In terms of gameplay this now gives depth to strategy unlike virtually any other game on the market.”
New Systems And Visual Overhauls
Version 6.0 brings a series of front-end improvements alongside gameplay tuning. The shop now features limited deals and booster packs, while chests open with new animation sequences and reward flows. Card collection screens have been redesigned with improved filters and faster scrolling.
Other refinements include resource animations for NiFe and Adallium, a revamped battle log, and an upgraded player profile screen with expanded stats.
Known issues such as visual bugs with booster balance and video thumbnails are already scheduled for fixes in the next patch. The team is also developing new card info screens and improved bot matchmaking.
A Growing Universe
WAGMI Defense continues to sit at the center of a much larger story world. The studio is building out its science fiction franchise through the NiFe Wars comic series, which recently released Parts 2 and 3 on Webtoon. The story follows Melcrose, a soldier rebuilt after alien experimentation, as tensions rise between human and alien forces.
WAGMI Games treats the comic as canon within the game’s timeline, linking character lore, cards, and world events across media. The company has said this transmedia approach is inspired by franchises like Halo and Destiny, using Web3 infrastructure to connect players to the story through collectibles and in-game progression.
The team continues to work with artists and writers from the traditional comics industry and has signaled plans for an animated adaptation in the future. Together with the latest update, this expansion strengthens WAGMI’s position as one of the most active studios in Web3 gaming, uniting its story, strategy, and community under a single universe.
