Quick Take
- YOM wins Best Startup award at Gamescom 2025’s official investor pitch event
- The decentralized cloud gaming platform was the only Web3 project among ten finalists
- Gamescom 2025 saw strong Web3 presence from chains like Avalanche, Polygon, and Immutable
YOM, a decentralized cloud gaming and metaverse infrastructure platform, was awarded Best Startup at Gamescom 2025 during the event’s Invest Circle pitch competition. It was the only Web3-related project among ten finalists selected from over 350 applicants.
Gamescom is the world’s largest video game conference, drawing over 350,000 attendees and 1,500+ exhibitors from more than 35 countries. The Invest Circle event is its only investment-focused pitch stage. YOM received the top game tech award, decided by a jury of industry ambassadors from companies including Headup, Electronic Arts, Behold Studios, and events organizer Tobias Kopka.
According to YOM, the jury’s decision reflects industry support for its infrastructure model, which allows games to be streamed through a decentralized network of gaming rigs—bypassing traditional cloud providers and reducing distribution costs. Developers can deploy games and metaverse content to any URL or streaming platform, including Telegram, using YOM’s system. The network is powered by a native token, $YOM, which will reward contributors running nodes and provide access to exclusive content.
The award follows increased visibility for crypto gaming at Gamescom this year, where blockchain platforms like Immutable, Avalanche, and Polygon also showcased their ecosystems and supported games.
YOM Prepares for Token Launch and Mainnet Rollout
YOM is planning several network milestones in the coming months:
- Hardware pre-orders will open for contributors to begin earning through node participation
- The platform’s Token Generation Event (TGE) will place the $YOM token into circulation
- A full mainnet launch will bring existing games from testnet into a live environment
The team noted that this recognition comes at a key moment, as it moves forward with scaling the platform for broader adoption across Web3 and traditional game channels. More updates are expected through official YOM community channels as the rollout continues.
