Gunzilla Games has announced the integration of its GUNZ blockchain with OpenSea, marking it as the ninth blockchain to partner with the dominant NFT marketplace. This collaboration allows for trading of in-game items as NFTs on the GUNZ chain directly through OpenSea.
Transparent Trading for Gamers
The Frankfurt-based company is pioneering a pathway for gamers to trade in-game assets across titles on the GUNZ blockchain. This integration with OpenSea offers a transparent, regulated platform for exchanging digital items, connecting traditional gaming with the burgeoning Web3 space.
The GUNZ and OpenSea Collaboration
The GUNZ blockchain, developed on a custom Avalanche subnet, is designed to grant full ownership of in-game assets to players. This means assets acquired in games become tradeable NFTs, enabling a player-controlled economy. OpenSea’s platform will facilitate these transactions using the “GUN” token as the sole payment method.
This move is aimed to reshape the way value is created and exchanged within games, allowing assets to move freely across game boundaries. Off The Grid, a cyberpunk battle royale by Gunzilla Games, will be the first to launch with this new economic model.
Statements from the CEOs
Vlad Korolov of Gunzilla Games highlighted the company’s intent to transform digital asset ownership, while OpenSea’s Devin Finzer recognized the integration as a pivotal step toward novel ownership experiences for console and PC players.
Looking Ahead
The GUNZ and OpenSea integration lays the groundwork for a more unified, player-driven economy within the gaming industry, leveraging blockchain technology to enhance asset ownership and trade. Users can anticipate Off The Grid’s release later this year on multiple platforms, serving as a prime example of this partnership’s potential.
