Yuga Labs’ Metaverse, OthersideMeta has announced its readiness to release the open beta test for its Legend of the Mara (LoTM). LoTM is said to be a collection-based 2D strategy game, classified as a sub-section of the Otherside metaverse game which is currently in development.
According to Yuga Labs, Otherside’s most recent partner, Faraway, a game studio and publisher will play a pivotal role as they seek to build a major expansion in Unity. The game studio is actively building interoperable player-driven universes. So far, Faraway has created two major games namely Mini Royale: Nation and Serum City.
While the two firms get their hands dirty with the expansion tasks, Otherside wants an early version for community members to constantly play and provide feedback. This method will help point out the areas that need to be checked while building an upgrade to the initial release.
The release of LoTM will reveal more information about Kodas, a set of small, bipedal creatures temporarily tied to about 10% of 100,000 Otherdeed land plots. Otherside will allow players to evolve their Mara into a more powerful Kodamara to harvest “sediment,” and defeat evil forces that may attach their Otherdeed lands during LoTM gameplay. Interestingly, all Otherdeed NFT landholders can claim a Vessel, regardless of their possession of Koda. These vessels grow into a Mara character under certain conditions with the right catalyst. Though Mara and Kodamara characters can also protect Otherside, they won’t be as powerful as the original Kodas.
