Renowned collectible card game, Splinterlands has revisited a barrier that prevents players with less expensive cards from advancing to higher leagues. This barrier was an integral part of their reward system. However, the team has created a new formula encouraging players to hold staked SPS tokens to improve match rewards.
Splinterlands SPS Token
Since the SPS token was introduced in 2021, Splinterlands has continually integrated the token into its game system. The team plans to make SPS the backbone of the entire Splinterlands ecosystem. The number of cards in their accounts determines a player’s collection score.
Splinterland’s new reward system was launched on July 6, permitting players to use their staked SPS tokens as part of the reward points calculations. The reward points determine the amount of SPS won from a match and the number of daily and seasonal chests players earn. In addition, the system uses staked SPS tokens to offer a reward point multiplier.
Splinterlands Delegation System
Players can use a delegation system for their staked SPS tokens and trade in the SPS rental market to aid other players. Through this system, players can bid for a certain amount of SPS tokens and indicate the amount of DEC they can afford to pay. Payment for these orders must be made in full. Meanwhile, all rentals would be terminated after 7 days.
The newly-released rental system is quite basic, lacking several essential features. Nevertheless, there could be enhanced rental and delegation functionality from third-party sites. These sites have been developing useful tools and utilities for the Splinterlands game.
