The Machines Arena has scheduled the kickoff of its Beta Season 1, July 11, at 1 PM UTC. In this season, players will have the opportunity to collect Beta and Loyalty rewards and exclusive collectible skins.
Beta Season 1, Rewards and Progression System
A notable addition in this season is XE, a new protagonist introduced for the Player versus Environment (PVE) mode, Death Run. A new Player versus Player (PVP) Pushback map, Black Site, is also part of the update.
Beta Season introduces a system where players can unlock collectible skins by leveling up their accounts throughout the season. Experience points (XP) can be earned by participating in Quick Play PVP or Death Run PVE. For instance, reaching level 25 will unlock the “Mercenary” Bravo Zulu skin, while the “Urban Commando” XE skin becomes available at level 50.
Special Rewards for Specific Player Groups
In addition to the regular level-based rewards, there will also be Loyalty Reward skins that are allocated for specific players. The “Royal Guard” Nightcore skin is set aside for players who participated before Season 1, while the “Rustic” Pyro skin is meant for original players. Other special skins include “Champions Sigil 2021” Pyro for the 2021 TMA Championship Tournament winners and “Chrome” Daye for content creators.
Future Developments
At the moment, unlocked skins are available only in the game client. However, future updates are planned to allow these skins to be minted and traded on the Ronin Network. According to the team behind The Machines Arena, this will be a completely opt-in feature.
The Beta Season 1 update can be downloaded via Epic Games at the scheduled launch time. Furthermore, The Machines Arena is set to expand to mobile and SkyMavis’s hub later this year. For those who do not have a Beta Key yet, they can sign up for the waitlist or participate in upcoming raffles and contests through selected partners.
