Quick Take
- Monad opens MON airdrop claim portal for 230,000 users ahead of public mainnet.
- Claiming runs until November 3 through the official portal at claim.monad.xyz.
- Tokens not yet live for trading; designed to reward real crypto users and builders.
The Monad Foundation has launched the MON airdrop, a large-scale distribution ahead of the network’s public mainnet. The event allocates MON tokens to over 230,000 recipients, spanning community members, builders, and onchain users across Ethereum and Solana.
Claiming is now live at claim.monad.xyz and will remain open until November 3, 2025. The token is not yet live for trading, and Monad has urged participants to verify they are using the correct claim portal to avoid phishing attempts.
The foundation describes the drop as a way to give “people who eat, sleep, and breathe crypto” a direct stake in the network. Eligibility spans five main groups: Monad community contributors, onchain users, crypto participants, researchers and educators, and active builders in the ecosystem.
The project worked with analytics firm Trusta AI to filter out sybil and bot activity. It also used community tools such as Monad Cards and Monad Community Recognizer to involve real users in the selection process.
Monad says the goal is to reward those who have been active in crypto culture and development rather than automated wallets or speculative accounts. Recipients include NFT holders, DeFi power users, DAO voters, and members of long-standing communities such as LobsterDAO and Farcaster.
The airdrop is one of the final steps before the Monad Public Mainnet launch, which will introduce the project’s high-performance Layer-1 blockchain focused on developers and power users.
