Community Gaming has introduced the Forkast platform, a new prediction market designed for gaming, internet culture, and Web3 assets. Built on the Ronin Network, Forkast allows users to create and participate in prediction markets on topics like esports tournaments, trending memes, popular streamers, current events, and crypto developments.
Why Ronin? A Growing Blockchain for Web3 Gaming
Ronin has established itself as a major player in blockchain gaming. Originally operating as a curated network, it shifted to an open model, making it easier for projects like Forkast to build on its infrastructure.
The network’s growing adoption reflects this shift. Ronin became the fourth most-used blockchain in 2024, with 1.6 million monthly active addresses and 17 million Ronin Wallet downloads. It also boasts over $4.3 billion in all-time NFT trading volume, making it one of the most active gaming ecosystems in Web3.
Community Gaming saw this as a natural fit for Forkast platform. Chris Gonsalves, Co-Founder of Community Gaming, explained the decision:
“Why did we choose Ronin Network for Forkast? It has proven to be the clear leader in gaming. CG has been building on Ronin for years with Community Gaming tournaments, and we’ve seen how resilient their community is.”
Community Gaming’s Track Record in Web3 Esports
Community Gaming has been involved with Ronin via high-profile blockchain gaming tournaments for years. In 2022, Axie Infinity partnered with Community Gaming to host the Axie: Classic World Championship, making it the first third-party app to directly integrate with the Ronin Network.
Since then, Community Gaming has continued to support major Web3 esports events, including AxieCon in Barcelona. These tournaments were and continue to be highly impactful in the industry as they were the first to manage a seven-figure prize pool in crypto gaming. With this experience, the team is now expanding into prediction markets through Forkast.
What is Forkast?
The Forkast platform is built to capture the fast-moving nature of gaming, esports, and Web3. From major tournaments to viral internet trends, the platform lets users bet on outcomes in different gaming-related prediction markets.
The platform is designed to be fully integrated with the CGX token, which plays a key role in Community Gaming’s ecosystem. Users can earn CGX tokens by participating in tournaments, staking, and engaging with the Forkast platform.
AI Trading Assistant and Future Developments
Community Gaming is also expanding Forkast’s functionality with an AI-powered trading assistant. This assistant will help users research gaming events—whether esports tournaments or other industry trends—and provide recommendations.
Beyond research, the AI will have trading capabilities, allowing it to place trades on behalf of users. It will support limit orders with set parameters, enabling automated execution based on user preferences.
Chris Gonsalves spoke about the upcoming feature in an interview with Impossible Finance, stating:“This is something we are all really excited about. It will be releasing in Q2 as the first phase of the research agents, followed by the phase where it will be able to place trades for users.”
This addition aligns with Forkast’s goal of expanding engagement beyond simple prediction markets, giving users data-driven insights and automated trading tools across different topics.
CGX Token Integration and Forkast’s Launch
To support Forkast’s rollout, Community Gaming launched Season 0 of the CGX Rewards Program, distributing 100 million CGX tokens (10% of total supply) to early participants. These tokens went to Community Gaming tournament players, Ronin delegators staking $RON and Participants in the Summer Points Program (Q3 2024).
Ahead of the official launch, the Ronin Launchpad Sale runs from February 17-18, allowing users to stake $wRON to get early access to CGX. Then, on February 19, the CGX token will officially go live alongside Forkast platform, marking the start of a new phase for Community Gaming.
Forkast’s Role in the Future of Web3 Gaming
Since its launch in 2020, Community Gaming has paid over 20,000 gamers and facilitated the creation of more than 800,000 wallets. The CGX token is central to this expanding ecosystem, acting as both an entry point for tournaments and a reward mechanism for users.
Now, with Forkast platform, Community Gaming is moving beyond esports tournaments into prediction markets, aiming to create new ways for players to engage with Web3 gaming. By leveraging Ronin’s open network, Forkast could become a key player in the intersection of gaming, crypto, and internet culture.
