Pixels has launched the first version of its Guilds feature, drawing inspiration from projects like FriendTech and Stars Arena. This addition is part of an effort to enhance community building within the game, particularly for the upcoming Chapter 2 release.
Guilds in Pixels
In Chapter 2, Guilds will play a crucial role in gameplay, requiring players to collaborate to maximize production and achieve goals. The update will introduce new resources and resource tiering, shifting resource generation from individual players to each land. A new skill focused on exploration will also be added, where Guilds compete for resources.
Membership and Ranks
Players can join Guilds by purchasing memberships, priced according to a bonding curve. These memberships can also be sold back, subject to a 5% tax split between the Guild and Pixels. Players can join multiple Guilds and hold multiple memberships, with the Guild where they have the most memberships designated as their Active Guild. While any player can buy a membership, Guilds maintain control over internal permissions, including resource access.
Guild Handles and Charters
Guild Handles, essential for forming a Guild, are available for purchase at 50,000 $BERRY. These handles are currently not transferable and are off-chain. Guilds need a Charter, which will be available for sale in $PIXEL, to start accepting memberships.
Guild Watchlists and Roadmap
Guild Watchlists have been introduced, allowing free sign-ups for players to join a Guild’s community. The top 20 Guilds with the largest watchlists will receive free Guild Charters and early access to upcoming functionalities. The roadmap for Guilds includes rolling out Memberships, Ranking, and Gameplay features over the coming months.
