Quick Take
- Runes migrates all card NFTs and assets from Polygon to Ronin blockchain
- Polygon tokens deprecated, Ronin now required to mint cards or buy packs
- Promo airdrops planned for Runiverse, Cyberkongz, Ronke and other partner communities
Runes, the fantasy-themed trading card game from the Forgotten Runes Wizard Cult team, has officially completed its migration to the Ronin Network. The move brings the full Runes TCG collection over from Polygon, including all cards, packs, backgrounds, and artwork.
The transition introduces wallet support for both Ronin and Metamask, though only the Ronin wallet can mint cards, open packs, or make purchases in $RON. Polygon contracts are now deprecated and no longer supported.
The team has confirmed that all eligible assets were airdropped to the same wallet address used on Polygon. Users had the option to assign a different address prior to the migration.
Runes also introduced Editions with this update. Cards minted before the move are now tagged as 1st Edition. Packs opened on Ronin will contain 2nd Edition cards. Editions currently serve as metadata but may have future utility.
To mark the launch, Runes will distribute promo cards to multiple NFT communities including Forgotten Runiverse, Cyberkongz, Kanstar, Ronke, and Fishing Frenzy. Each group has different eligibility requirements, ranging from NFT ownership to token holdings.
The team also plans to launch tournaments in the near future.
