Solana Labs has created GameShift API, an innovative platform where users can streamline the process of web3 game development and deployment. The platform integrates all the necessary technologies into a singular interface, allowing developers to easily create new blockchain games.
This platform is a solution to one of the several difficulties encountered in the web3 gaming space, where developers need to integrate different technologies from multiple providers. The newly unveiled Solana-based API will consolidate all the required tools in one interface, easing and fostering a game’s building process.
Why Web3 Developer Needs GameShift API?
GameShift API has an extensive toolkit including custody solutions, marketplaces, inventory management, NFT minting, and credit card on and off-ramps, among other features. Speaking on the latest development, the Head of Products at Solana Labs, AI Tchwella explained that GameShift will act as a comprehensive solution for developers to “build faster and more confidently.”
According to Tchwella, many developers recognize the potential of web3 games but lack the capacity to explore the scattered landscape of web3 tools and solutions. He said: “Developers see the potential of web3 games but they need help navigating the fragmented landscape of web3 tools and solutions. GameShift will make it easy for developers to focus more on building their games instead of wrestling with the complexities of integrating web3 into their games.”
Though GameShift would be officially launched later this year, Solana has allowed developers to access and enjoy the scalability. The announcement about the interconnected platform was made at PlayGG, a Solana Labs community event where over 40 Solana-based blockchain games were in attendance.
