Star Atlas has extended its mission to make its community a player-driven economy. In recent developments, the game re-introduced $ATLAS market pairs on the Galatic marketplace. Star Atlas is transforming the real space economy with some key changes to Claim Stakes, allowing players to adjust and benefit.
Claim Stakes New Measures
These changes made to the ecosystem include a steep increase in the Claim Stake output of four key resources (R4) — ammo, food, fuel, and toolkits, an increase in the availability of Claim Stakes and R4 resource loot drops, shuttering of sales of R4 resources and economic safeguards.
Star Atlas is developing a full economic loop with decentralized decision-making through an R4 resource generation from Claim Stakes. Notably, the resources generated depend solely on the Claim Stakes’ Tier. Players can receive R4 resources in the Factions Claims app by claiming lands for their faction. There are five tiers of Claim Stakes namely Tier 1 (common), Tier 2 (uncommon), Tier 3 (rare), Tier 4 (epic), and Tier 5 (legendary).
Considering the recent spike in Claim Stake purchases, Star Atlas has given up half of the remaining primary supply of Claim Stakes. Players can purchase Claim Stakes in the Galatic Marketplace with a 20% discount on the original price. The remaining amount of Claim Stakes at each tier is as follows: Tier 1 – 61%, Tier 2 – 21% (USDC only), Tier 3 –72%, Tier 4 – 86%, and Tier 5 – 71%.
What are Claim Stakes?
Claim Stakes are the asset that provides direct economic utility in the existing Star Atlas ecosystem. These assets will maintain their function in generating R4 resources throughout the transitory phase and also evolves as the game progresses. Players who participated in the 2021 ReBirth campaign and other 2022/23 campaigns are encouraged to check out for Claim Stakes. All owned claim stakes can be accessed via the game’s inventory and be used to generate resources in the Faction Claims app.
Developments in SAGE: Escape Velocity
The number of concurrent users and scanning movement has increased by 25% and 29% respectively in SAGE: Escape Velocity. As a result of this, the amount of R4 resources discovered in loot drops have been increased to help players replenish the in-game resources consumed in the Faction Fleet. The development has been tailored in line with Escape Velocity’s gameplay that allows players to hunt valuable loot like spaceships, posters, and R4 to replenish their fleets.
Star Atlas plans to cease the unlimited supply of R4 resources sold by the DAO in the Galactic Marketplace. To avoid interruptions, the team will keep a 30-day supply of Faction Fleet ships available for sale until the R4 amount runs out. Star Atlas aims to use this transitory phase as a gateway to optimize in-game resources for a balanced economy.
